Tips from Past & Current Clients
Whether
you are building your dream home or finally pulling the trigger on that kitchen
remodel you have been wanting to do for so long, we can all agree on one thing:
remodeling your home can be stressful, especially if you are a year round
resident literally living through the renovation process.
Don’t
start to panic, yet though – we have taken some time to catch up with past (and
current) clients, to see what advice they have for us on how to “keep your
cool” during the whirlwind process of remodeling a home. While their advice may
not speed up the process (be patient, we promise it will be worth the wait!),
their words definitely have some value, and certainly can give us all peace of mind.
Before & After
Chuck
& Kathy are current clients of ours who are in the midst of a cottage
remodel. While they are currently residing down state and are not up north year
round, Chuck shared the importance of communication throughout the entire
process. “Individuals need to understand that it is essential to have in-person
communication with the design/project management team. People need to be aware
of what is going on within their project and it really helps just to ensure
everyone is on the same page. If your full time home is downstate and you have
a cottage up north, you need to make sure you’re visiting the showroom at least
every 4-6 weeks to touch base and stay connected.”
Chuck’s
advice is spot on; the key to any successful project (and keeping your sanity
during said project) is communication. We will say it once, and we will say it
again, communicate, communicate, communicate. Kathy, in addition,
commented on how important it is to document what you like, but always keep an
open mind and allow the designer to offer suggestions/ their professional
opinion. “I’ve been screenshotting everything I love to save and show
Angela…BUT, I’m also going into each meeting with an open mind and am always
excited to hear what she has to suggest.”
Before & After
Trish, a past client of Kitchen Choreography’s, shared some insight she gained
from her kitchen remodel experience. “My best piece of advice is to try and
enjoy the process as much as you can…sit back, relax, and let the professionals
do what they are best at. There is no point in worrying, or stressing when the
end result will be the same regardless – a stunning new space.” …she’s not
wrong! While we all understand the process of renovating a home can be chaotic,
and sometimes even frustrating, all we can do is make the best of it, just like
any other situation. So why not enjoy the process of your house becoming a
home?
Before & After
In
conclusion, another one of our awesome clients, Ginna, summed up exactly what she thought was the most
important part of the process. “The imagination, thoughts and dreams you bring
to the project are so important. Your end result will fully reflect you, and
will bring you happiness every time you enter that space.”
We
hope these words of wisdom from our past and current clients have helped put
your mind at ease a bit, the process of designing a home should be fun and a
memory to treasure forever.
