Kitchen Choreography wins a Historic Preservation Award for Adaptive Reuse
The Historic Preservation Committee of Grand Traverse County awarded Kitchen Choreography the Adaptive Reuse Award.
We have been honored for all our hard work in renovating Building 79, the old Steward's residence of the State Hospital, now home to our beautiful Showroom. The care we, along with many others, took in renovating this historical Victorian home is evident in it's design and construction.
On Monday evening, we attended the Historic Preservation Awards Program at the History Center, amongst others that received awards including another Adaptive Reuse Award - Mike Jacobson for Cottage 36 of the Historic State Hospital. Other awards received included: Ken Schmidt of Coldwell Banker Schmidt Realtors won the Special Merit Award along with Mike Coco & Marci Bultemeier for Dr. Guy Johnson Residence & Office; Gary Wilson won Historic Rehabilitation for his work on 529 Fifth Street; Matt Schmidt & Kate Green won Historic Restoration for Cuyler Germaine House along with the Dougherty Historic Home Site for the Reverend Peter Dougherty House.
The Special Merit Project of the Year was received by Susan Odom of Hillside Homestead in Suttons Bay. Congratulations to all the award recipients! And a big thank you to the Historic Preservation Committee for presenting these awards.
